In Community with Type

This typography project explores the typographic history of the BART system—specifically its history with the Frutiger font—and captures the unique letterforms and signage that shape the visual identity of BART as we know it today. The project reflects a deeper examination of local design choices and the role of typography in shaping public spaces. BART also holds a strong importance for public wayfinding and constantly seeks to improve visitor experience.
