The Structural Book

The publication project focused on creating a structural book on any text that had a meaningful impact. I designed this structural publication on Annie Dillard’s Pilgrim at Tinker Creek and her beautiful journalism and storytelling about her experience with nature and its chaos. Her honesty and description drew me to this book because she was not afraid to note that while nature may be visually gorgeous, it contains a hidden darkness to it that allows a balance to occur with the good and bad of life’s things. Therefore, I intentionally chose pictures that I’ve taken of nature and created page layouts that intentionally connected to the contents of each paragraph.
